Daniel’s Garden

by Meg North

As the son of a prominent Boston family, Daniel Stuart’s destiny lies along an educated path. But he shocks all by dropping out of Harvard to join a ragtag group of abolitionists – and they go to war.

Follow Daniel and his comrades into the trenches and fields of some of the Civil War’s bloodiest battles: Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.

This story will astound you with its graphic depictions of battles, its memoir-esque feel, and its tender love story. At times funny, poignant, and heartbreaking, “Daniel’s Garden” contains the hopes, dreams, and sacrifices one man will make to be true to himself.

About the Author:

Meg North spent a happy ten years researching the material for her debut historical fiction novel, “Daniel’s Garden.” Her personal journey from knowing almost nothing about the Civil War to becoming a self-taught expert took her from Boston’s cobblestone streets to the quiet cornfields of Maryland and the haunting battlefields of Virginia. Begun at the age of 16, she has worked tirelessly to breathe life into 150-year-old facts and flesh out both real and imagined personalities.

Meg wishes to thank her dear friends and family for supporting her. She lives in Maine with her amazing husband, funny pug, and enormous book collection.
